Company information

Damhert started out 30 years ago as a genuine family company. When the 3 children came into the business, Damhert really took off. We made the big step from distributing A-brands to distributing Damhert’s own-label products to supermarkets throughout the BeNeLux.

Today all three generations are actively working for Damhert’s future.
Damhert has a strong social commitment to both employees and the outside world. Our extremely highly motivated Damhert team of 80 consists mainly of women and has a horizontal structure - everyone on an equal footing. On one day a week Kristel, Patrick and Erik - three enthusiastic people with a mental handicap – also work for us.

It is a company philosophy: `Respect for people, animals and the environment, but also for staff and ‘those who might be somewhat different than ourselves’'. This conscious attitude is even expressed in the way in which Damhert packs and ships products: All products are shipped in special, re-useable boxes and placed straight on the shelves. This saves a pile of cardboard: much more environmentally friendly!

In addition Damhert supports a few ‘good causes’ every year, since we believe you don’t always have to make money: once in a while you can also have a thought for your fellow man. Such things enrich you, your employees and your company.

And how did we arrive at the name Damhert? Very simple: Damhert is Dutch for 'fallow deer', an elegant animal that selects its food from nature, and is very particular about what it eats!
